First donation to Music Rising – thank you everyone!

I’m happy to report that I’ve made the first donation to Music Rising with the proceeds from my Edge calendar.  Today also sadly marks the the 6th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.

So far I have sold 21 calendars and raised a total of $106.14 Canadian.  I decided to just donate the equivalent amount in USD and cover the exchange myself as our dollar is so strong right now.  Here is the screenshot of the transaction – thank you again for your support, I am very proud to be donating this amount on behalf of all the U2/Edge fans who purchased a calendar.

Thanks to everyone who purchased a calendar between August 8-August 28, I was able to donate $106.14 to Music Rising

Warning!

If you are interested and haven’t yet purchased one, remember they are still for sale for the next few months – I’m still hoping to raise $500!  And if you are one of the people who has already received one, please leave your comments below :)

I'm a U2 fan from Regina, Canada - my real name is Lori-Jo. In addition to being a gigantic fan and admirer of one Mr. The Edge, I attended 16 dates on U2's 360 tour in 2009 and 2011 all over North America. Chances are you may have met me in a General Admission line somewhere - I'm the one with the Joshua Tree era Edge hat. This blog details my adventures as well as my ongoing relationship with U2, their music, and their fans - a few of whom have become my best friends.

I have advertised your calendar on my U2_Recording at Yahoo Groups forum and at my site.

Hopefully it will help generate a few more sales.

    Cheers!

Quick update to this project. I managed to donate another $30 some dollars for the last few calendars I’ve sold. I have taken them off of sale as we have passed healthily into 2012 and they’re no longer relevant (LOL, I hear a Bono quote somewhere). I hope to come up with something new for the 51st birthday…. any ideas or donations, let me know!
